A DEVIOUS NEW COMEDY ABOUT ONE WOMAN’S DEAL WITH THE DEVIL

THE BOSTON GLOBE REVIEW:
"...a wordless scene that is unsettling in all the right ways, a sequence of fiercely tormented Morris dancing (choreography is by Misha Shields) that occurs in the immediate aftermath of a major plot development and registers as a wrenchingly physical expression of conflicting emotions. It’s the single most powerful scene in “Witch,” and, as it happens, it involves one of the four supporting characters."

WITCH
BY JEN SILVERMAN | DIRECTED BY REBECCA BRADSHAW
OCTOBER 15 - NOVEMBER 14, 2021
THE HUNTINGTON CALDERWOOD/BCA, 527 TREMONT ST.
This fiendishly funny new play follows an alluring devil named Scratch as he arrives in the country village of Edmonton, and he promises to make the darkest dreams of its locals come true in exchange for their souls. When he meets Elizabeth Sawyer, she should be the easiest to convince — she’s an outcast, branded as a witch for years. So why does she resist Scratch’s deal? This subversive, inventive work by Jen Silverman (The Roommate) is a free adaptation of a 1621 Jacobean comedy recreated with a modern sensibility, and is “devilishly clever and deliciously laugh-packed” (StageSceneLA). Directing is Rebecca Bradshaw.
DEVELOPMENTAL WORKSHOP: A GIRL AND A BOY DANCE
It Feels Good To Be Back!!!
The first week of August, I was honored and thrilled to travel to North Carolina to work on the development of a brand new musical! I will go into the details of the show on a later date, but what I can say is that this beautiful show is all about dance and the love of dance. It was a JOY! So, as you can imagine, one of the major priorities throughout this week long workshop was movement development, exploration and experimentation. We wanted to discover how this show moved alongside this heartfelt and exciting score and lovely story. It was truly beautiful. And man, it was fun.
Here is a little teaser tailer of the work that was created that week. Check back for more updates on this new musical!
